Comunity Garden Initiative

Attention: Any who are interested in founding a community garden in Bruin Park, Herndon. The effort is ongoing, but we need your help. The garden location will be Bruin Park (415 Van Buren Street), which is owned by the Town and managed by Fairfax County. The Master Plan for Bruin Park has been amended to include a community garden. Now we need to make this garden happen!

We need your help with fundraising for the Community Garden project! These are all the ways you can contribute so we can reach the goal of raising $10,000 (approximately one quarter of the project's total cost):

  • Mail a check made payable to "Herndon Environmental Network", at PO BOX 1704, Herndon, VA, 20170 (put community garden in the memo line)
  • Or donate online!
  • Select Herndon Environmental Network as your preferred charity when you shop through Amazon Smile (0.5% of any qualified purchases will be donated to HEN). We encourage responsible and environmentally conscious purchases.

We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, so your donations are tax deductible to the extent permitted by law. If you would like to put your networking and fundraising skills to work, we'd be happy for you to join our volunteer outreach team. We are looking for individuals with a desire to help with raising funds for the Community Garden by visiting local businesses and gauging their interest in supporting this project!
